I'm pretty upset about the election results. So I sat down and put some thoughts together.
It is clear as a result of the presidential election that the United States of America has entered a paradigm shift of which it may never recover.
The Democratic Party, long since morphed into some monster unrecognized by Democrats fifty years ago, has become obsessed with being all things to most people rather than be all it should be for the entire United States. In John F. Kennedy’s inauguration speech he stated, “Ask not, what your country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your country.” He also challenged the United States to become even greater by launching the goal of “putting a man on the moon and returning him to earth.” What happened? Kennedy’s Democratic Party has been replaced with a party that promotes a lifestyle of; “I will take whatever I can get, with as little effort as possible, and not feel the least bit ashamed for it. It is owed me because I am a victim of (fill in the blank).”
Some think the senior citizens of this country, who worked fifty to sixty years, somehow are now gouging the government for their Social Security “entitlements.” This segment of the population paid billions into the Social Security coffers, over the years, to augment a standard of living in their retirement years. It is hardly unearned. Yet, if someone makes a decision to not work they can count on the government, led by the Democrats, to take care of them. WIC, extended unemployment benefits, and welfare have become a standard of living for those on the take and they are not likely to give it up for anything even the demise of this once great country.
It is clear those believing in the Democratic philosophy that government will take care of you, will learn soon enough, the well is going to dry up. The hard working people that are supplying those on the take will soon become tired. They will also become less motivated thus reducing the bankroll the government uses to pay for the taker’s votes. After all, that is what the Democrats are doing, buying votes. The divided that feel they are treated unfairly because the successful are better off than they, will continue to cry and whine and the Democratic Party will soothe them with even more entitlements. We will see the providers and givers diminish in numbers and the takers increasing to the point where there are simply not enough givers and providers.
The result will be the once great nation of the United States of America will become bankrupt just as Europe. We will become nothing more than a third-world country in the eyes of the rest of the world and China will call its loan.
The worldwide respect the United States once held is hardly a spec compared to years ago. Blame Bush? Blame the Republicans? How about blaming America and the politicians that are suppose to be working for the betterment of this nation? Somehow the desire and drive to get elected then spend the next four years getting re-elected is not what our country’s leaders are sent to Washington, DC to accomplish.
Never in the course of U.S. history has a president been rewarded with another four-year term with such a dismal record. Teleprompter sweet-talking the general public, disrespecting long-standing allies, dead foreign embassy representatives and support staff, stifled economic growth with emphasis on all-too-expensive alternative fuel vehicles, investments in companies that take the money and go belly-up, absolute zero accountability for trillions of dollars doled out in the name of economic development, bailing out the auto union, no-drilling policies at home while spending billions for foreign countries to drill, abysmal unemployment figures even when the numbers are juggled in a more favorable level, completely one-sided national new agencies with no accountability to anyone, the worse personal attack campaign ever, and the list goes on and on and on… and the consequence for all this? Four more years of the same.
I am genuinely concerned for the next four years of this country. With four more years Obama literally has free rein to do whatever he wants, without consequence. He will have no one to answer to, especially the citizens of this country. I hope the House and Senate have what it takes to do their job and keep the original idea of checks and balances in place. The American people will need it.
We had a chance to get back on track and the voting public missed the opportunity.
Four more years of the same old stuff will simply put our national debt at $20 trillion, unemployment will languish at today’s levels, we will continue to be the laughing stock of the rest of the world, and our national motto will be “do you want fries with that?” or “corn or flour tortillas?”
