Ever since his astonishing election win, Donald Trump has been assailed by the Left: Dems,  RINOs, MSM, academia, the “deep state,” Silicon Valley elites, and globalists. Recently, the anti-Trump forces have become increasingly frustrated, and even enraged, from failed efforts to remove POTUS. The Left’s DNA is not coded for them to understand Trump, or why he remains, and will remain, impervious to their continual broadsides. The Left have gaping moral, social, and intellectual blind spots that render them incapable of separating Trump, the man, from the American values and beliefs he represents. 

Heart and Soul of the American Spirit slowly dying under Obama

The political and ideological enemies aligned against Trump are tilting at windmills when they attack Trump personally. The reality is the Left’s mortal foe is not made of flesh & blood. Their archenemy is far more formidable than a mere man. Their foe is amorphous, intangible, i.e., a belief system conterminous with the American Spirit, diffused with foundational values and beliefs. These cherished values/beliefs had been ignored, demeaned, and actively suppressed during the Obama presidency. Millions upon millions of bewildered, hardworking citizens witnessed the debasement and refutation of traditional family values, American excellence, the rule of law, meritocracy, biological principles of male/female physiology, etc. Millions of other citizens experienced the eradication of livelihoods sacrificed before the altar of “climate change.”
With the heart and soul of the American Spirit slowly dying under Obama, “non-coastal” citizens began to abandon all hope, with the “certainty” of a Hillary presidency and the coup de grace to follow. Then, a phenomenon occurred during the GOP primaries. A tough-as-nails, street fighter emerged, a person who spoke from his heart and sincerely cherished and unabashedly expressed his love for America, the American Spirit, and American exceptionalism. Multitudes of desperate citizens flocked to, or watched the patriotic, perpetual Trump rallies. Despite his Queens accent and his odd-colored hair, citizens bonded with this main-street billionaire, whom they began to trust implicitly to champion the restoration and protection of their deeply held beliefs in God, country, and family. On Tuesday, November 8, 2016 these citizens voted en masse and Trump won in the early morning hours of Wednesday. Then, that very afternoon, the Left launched its all-out war on Trump.

The war against Trump continues unabated

The war against Trump continues unabated. Bereft of honesty and conscience, however, the Left now flounder on their incessant waves of opposition to Trump. The Left never did, never can, and never will understand Trump’s visceral connection with everyday citizens. They cannot fathom that Trump is the citizens’ champion who fights for their American values and beliefs. Trump has fashioned a broad shield to protect everyday citizens, one made from the patriotic sinew of the American Spirit, a shield, while intangible, that can never be splintered. Equally demoralizing for the Left is their continuing inability to parry the nationalistic “sword” Trump so skillfully deploys on the political battlefield. His myriad of enemies are clueless as to the strategies relied on by Trump as when to advance, thrust, feint, and disengage. They also are unaware that Trump’s sword has been tempered repeatedly, over decades, in the no-holds-barred arena of real estate development against well-lawyered cutthroat adversaries, street-savvy competitors, and the insidious power of regulatory tyrants and political gatekeepers. Now, as POTUS, Trump arises early each morning armed with shield and sword to engage in political battle for the sole benefit of American citizens.

The Left will continue to focus their hatred and venom on their faux mortal enemy, Trump, the “man.” They fatally misidentify their nemesis. For Trump is but the transparent symbol of the ideals that undergird American society. Ideals which flow from fundamental and natural rights embedded in the text and spirit of the U.S. Constitution. These American ideals resonate within the souls of citizens from all walks of life and age groups. Without reason or thought, the Left have unwittingly joined in battle against not a man, but an indomitable American Spirit personified by a man with blonde hair from Queens. The champion of “we the people.” In the coming skirmishes and battles with the Left, Trump knows in his heart he fights not alone, for Trump is “us.”

'Russian Collusion' by Saul Alinsky

Do you know Saul Alinsky? He was the mentor of most of the leading liberal politicians of our time- including Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. 

Alinsky was a radical Marxist strategist and community organizer. His leading "weapons" were weapons of mass distraction: misinformation, radical protest and blaming the other guy for whatever you (the liberal politician or activist) are guilty of. 

Alinsky actually counseled radical leftists to look in the mirror and whatever you see, blame the other guy for doing or being that exact same thing. So, if you’re a crook, blame the other guy for being a crook. If you’re a corrupt politician, call your opponent a corrupt politician. If you’ve ruined the economy, blame your opponent for ruining the economy. And of course, if you’re in bed with Russia, blame the other guy for being in “collusion” with Russia. 

It’s all playing out in front of our very eyes. 

First, of course, is the economy. Liberals insist Obama did a great job. They live by a combination of fake news, outright lies and delusion. Just today a liberal critic sent me “hate mail” claiming I’m a liar when I claim Trump’s economy is booming and better than Obama’s. He actually stated that Obama’s final year GDP hit 3.2%. 

Fact: Obama is the only president in America’s history to never once in eight years reach 3% GDP (economic growth). 

Fact: In Obama’s final year GDP was 1.6%. President Trump took over an economy in misery, malaise and despair. 

Obama’s economy was a disaster. Trump has created a booming economy. Who says it? Not Wayne Root. Try the Federal Reserve. 

The Fed announced on Tuesday that the Trump economy is booming and is expected to grow even faster. Fed Chairman Powell announced he is forced to raise interest rates to slow the booming Trump economy down!

Fact: In Obama’s final year GDP was 1.6%. President Trump took over an economy in misery, malaise and despair. 

Powell added, “The unemployment rate is low and expected to fall further.”

Contrast that to the Obama years. In eight long years of Obama, as liberals claimed the economy was doing wonderful, the scared-to-death Fed raised interest rates ONCE by a ¼ point.

Under Trump the Fed has raised interest rates five times in 1 ½ years, with two more expected this year alone. 

That’s one rate raise in eight years under Obama versus seven times in only two years for Trump. 

Facts matter. With Trump in charge, the Fed is scared to death things are too good, jobs are too plentiful, the economy is growing too fast.

Enter “Russian Collusion."

The Deep State, DC Swamp and establishment of both parties are all in a panic. Trump is making America Great Again- just as he promised. Lots of jobs. Wage increases. A booming economy. He destroyed ISIS. He appears to have won a victory with North Korea. He just hounded NATO into contributing $33 billion more. And to top it off, Trump appears to have made friends with Putin and Russia. Trump’s critics are freaking out. 

Now he’s “a traitor” for becoming too friendly with Russia. 

They are desperate to distract you from the biggest takeaway of the Helinski Summit. Putin alleged a corrupt Russian business group gave Hillary’s campaign $400,000 of campaign contributions. Not only can foreigners not contribute to US campaigns…but Putin claims it was illegally obtained dirty money. 

If true, Hillary is the one who colluded with Russians three times.

Once when selling 1/5 of America’s Uranium stock in return for $140 million in donations to the Clinton Foundation (plus a $500,000 speech for Bill Clinton). Second when she paid millions to Russians for a fake dossier to frame Trump. And again, when she colluded with corrupt Russians to help fund her presidential campaign.

Guess who else is in big trouble? Even if the Russians did try to help elect Trump, guess who was in charge at the time and did absolutely nothing? Obama.

Guess who was in charge while Hillary committed all these alleged crimes with Russia and Russian groups?Obama. 

DC insiders report FBI lawyer Lisa Page has implicated a high profile insider in these Russian scandals, as well as the attempt by FBI insiders to fix the election for Hillary. Guess who? Obama.  

And guess who Putin claims handled the illegal $400,000 campaign donation for Hillary? Obama's CIA.

Hillary and Obama looked in the mirror and saw their own criminal Russian Collusion. So, she made up a story and blamed Trump. The CIA, FBI, and DOJ were desperate to help, because they are all implicated in Hillary and Obama’s crimes.

Flashback: Hillary Clinton Went on Russian Television and Said Obama Wanted to ‘Strengthen Russia’

Prominent members of the resistance didn’t always despise Russia.

While they pull their hair out in feigned outrage over President Trump trying to establish diplomatic relations with Russian President Vladimir Putin today, there was once a time not all that long ago when Hillary Clinton admitted that Barack Obama was doing his best to help “strengthen Russia.” 

During an interview – on Russian television no less – then-Secretary of State Clinton was asked by Vladimir Pozner, “What is being done to make it easier for Americans to come to Russia and for Russians to visit America?”

Clinton’s response seemed to be one of building relationships between Russia and America, something which is apparently frowned upon these days.

“Well, we want to encourage a lot more travel and a lot more exchanges,” she said. “As we move forward and we get more experience between our two countries and facilitating business travel, tourism travel, education travel, every kind of travel, I think it will become, at least I hope, easier and easier.”

Seems reasonable. Sure, had Trump said this there’d be a 24-hour news cycle claiming the apocalypse was on the horizon? But if you think that’s bad, wait until you hear what she said next.

“One of the fears that I hear from Russia is that somehow the United States wants Russia to be weak,” Clinton added. “That could not be farther from the truth. Our (the Obama administration) goal is to help strengthen Russia.”

Wow, that’s crazy talk. In fact, by today’s standards, that would make Hillary and Obama “wholly in the pocket” of Russia and “nothing short of treasonous.”

Two years later, Clinton was again on television and announced that the administration viewed Russia as an ally.

“In many of the areas where we are working to solve problems, Russia has been an ally,” Clinton said. “So I think it’s somewhat dated to be looking backwards instead of being realistic about where we agree, where we don’t agree, but looking for ways to bridge the disagreements and then to maximize the cooperation.”



Maximize cooperation?

Those words would be blasphemy in the eyes of today’s Democrat party.

How did the Obama administration help strengthen Russia and maximize cooperation? By ignoring attempts to interfere in the 2016 election because they thought Hillary was going to win anyway.

Need proof? Here is a video of Obama’s chief cyber official Michael Daniel revealing to the Senate Intelligence Committee that Obama issued a “stand down” order against Russian cyber attacks in 2016.



“This is the Obama administration,” conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh analyzed. “They knew the Russians were hacking. They knew Russians were engaging in cyber warfare, and the Obama White House chief cyber official testified that he was told to stand down.”

Obama’s former National Security Advisor Susan Rice allegedly gave the “stand down” order.

“So Obama didn’t do anything about the Russians!” Limbaugh exclaimed. “Obama was telling everybody the Russians could not hack the presidential election. Obama was telling people that it was too massive and widespread and intricate, it couldn’t be done.”

Not only did he fail to do anything, he openly mocked Trump knowing full well he was allowing Russian interference.

“If whenever things are going badly for you and you lose, you start blaming somebody else, then you don’t have what it takes to be in this job,” Obama taunted in October of 2016.

“But the larger point that I want to emphasize here, is that there is no serious person out there who would suggest somehow that you could even rig America’s elections,” he added. “And so I’d invite Mr. Trump to stop whining and go make his case to get votes.”

Obama allowed it, then scoffed at the notion.

He helped ‘strengthen Russia.’ He helped ‘maximize cooperation’ in meddling with the 2016 presidential election.

Man Explains why He’s Walking Away from the Left

A rather remarkable thing has begun in America. It’s an awakening of sorts. Check that. It’s not “of sorts.” It is an absolute awakening. It’s been dubbed as #Walkaway.

As most know, I, the Common Constitutionalist, was not, am not, and will never be an “Ever-Trumper.” I wholeheartedly support the president when I believe he is right and constitutional on policy, and call him out when he strays. As the saying goes: “It’s not personal – it’s just business.” Being a Never-Trumper or Ever-Trumper is just silly and irrational.

But thank heavens for president Trump and the many things he has accomplished thus far. Most have been well publicized as good or evil, but known to most nonetheless. And most leftist campaigns against him have been equally well publicized.

However, one campaign may not – at least not yet. It’s called the #Walkaway movement, and I don’t think it would have begun without Trump being elected.

Up until this last presidential election, Ronald Reagan was the most hated Republican president. Reagan was labeled as the amiable dunce by the left, and to be sure, was hated by them. But as much as they disliked Reagan’s policies, the left didn’t suffer from Reagan Derangement Syndrome. Nor did they of either George Bush.

The reason was two fold. Despite his conservative bona fides, Reagan was a likeable guy. He was quick-witted and self-effacing, or as much as the leader of the free world can be. “W” was also likeable and developed a self-deprecating sense of humor. The other reason was that most liberals of that era weren’t full-on lunatics. And if they were, they were forced to remain in the closet, as it were.

But today, most on the left, and many on the right, see Trump as the opposite, and it grates on them. They hate his policies and don’t see him as even a likeable guy. This is how Trump derangement began. Even some on the right can’t separate the man from his policies. Admittedly, it does take some discipline – not a strong suit of the left.

But as the left becomes more unhinged, some liberals are waking up to the lunacy. Some are reaching the Red Line of “you’ve gone too far,” and refusing to cross.

You may have heard of the #Walkaway movement. I hadn’t, but I have now and it’s darned exciting. The movement was begun, just recently, by now former leftist, homosexual New York hair stylist, Brandon Straka. His only knock is that he is white. Can’t have everything I suppose.

He explains, clearly and concisely, why he has divorced himself from modern liberalism. No spin, no name-calling and no scripted talking points. And the movement is spreading fast.

 n his wake have appeared dozens of other accounts from women, blacks – former liberals from all walks of life, all denouncing the fallacy of leftism. It’s a beautiful thing to see liberals have their eyes opened for the first time.

So what, you may ask, could this mean for the upcoming elections? Well, maybe nothing – maybe something. My first thought is really – how many people will actually be affected by this, to the point of leaving the democrat Party. Maybe not enough to affect this election cycle.

Most leftist phony virtue signally campaigns catch fire due to force-feeding by the media, burn bright for a short period and then flame-out. In other words, they have no staying power. It’s why they constantly have to uncover the next boogeymen to “stand” against. They do so because there is no underlying substance. There is nothing beyond the slogans and talking points.

But Brandon’s movement is different. It has what liberal movement’s lack – substance and thought. For a solid six minutes, Brandon uses logic and reason to explain, point by point, why he left the democrats and abandoned leftism. Because of this, he and many like him will likely never return to the left.

Is President Donald Trump God’s Olive Branch Extended To America?

(The Olive) Amos 8:11 has never been more true than today – America has by and large become a godless nation. God has been thrown out of schools, kicked out of Christmas, removed from statehouses, and denigrated in every available medium.  Even the Church itself plays fast and loose with the truth of the Gospel, denying the truth and making it up as they go along. Read approval of same-sex marriage, and ordaining homosexuals and lesbians as “pastors” here, this ought NOT to be.

Barack Obama downplayed the importance of God instead encouraging the edification of the people with regard to Islam.  Obama effectively removed support for marriage as being between one man and one woman – this one move opened the floodgates wide for the advancement of the homosexual agenda, transgenders etc. Christians and Christianity were objects of scorn and derision, while the all-important fake god of Islam was venerated.

Lets not kid ourselves, the American culture and our personally held beliefs have been circling the toilet bowl for years now – then along came Obama, and he flushed the toilet.  Under Obama’s reign of destruction, Islam was to be interwoven into the fabric of the Unites States as an important and critical tool used to bring down the U.S. while Christianity was attacked, maligned, marginalized, and destroyed – without outright admitting that this was exactly what was and IS going on.

Do your homework, see for yourself how many Muslim men were appointed to positions of power in the U.S. government by Obama – men that have ties to radical Islam – this was no accident.

Obama and his leftist, socialistic cronies, AKA the Deep State, did incalculable damage to this country – economically, socially, politically, spiritually, to our beliefs, our values, our foreign interests, and the military to name a few.

Then along came Donald Trump as a candidate for president. The Obama/Clinton crime machine went into super-overdrive.  The leftist progressive socialists under the direct supervision of Obama and Hillary decided to be proactive – they decided to do everything possible to stop Trump from being elected as president.  After Trump shockingly won the election, the left determined that Trump’s presidency must be undermined and destroyed by any means necessary.  The left is still attempting to accomplish their most treasured goal; the complete and utter ruination and destruction of President Donald Trump – (as well as all Trump supporters), this is the ONLY purpose of the Mueller investigation.

The U.S. as a whole has fallen so far into the cesspool of evil one has to wonder if this country will ever regain a moral base again.

In ancient times prophets were sent to Israel to warn them of impending judgment – said warnings were usually ignored.  Then proceeded the judgment of God against Israel.

Many including this writer have written of the judgment against America for our many sins and continuing slide ever further down into the cesspool of satanic filth that constitutes the greater portion of our society.  This is of course not a popular position to take, but my writing is not based on popularity – but truth – truth is truth after all.

Lets look at the evidence before us:

• Same-sex marriage is now the law of the land
• Sex is ok and acceptable at anytime, anywhere, and between any number of persons regardless of gender
• The U.S. is a HUGE distributor of porn
• Millions of children have been murdered; their dismembered and butchered bodies being sold for profit
• Men are trying to become what they cannot, women, and vice versa with the women.
• Kindergarteners are taught about sex, homosexuality, transgenders etc.
• Christianity which has its basis in love absolutely must not be taught and expounded on in schools – yet the so-called religion of peace that is built on murder and violence is now taught in many American schools.
• Mass shootings are the new norm
• Vaccinations are dangerous and are more about population control then medicine
• Natural medicine (which actually works without the dangerous side affects) practitioners are being murdered in droves
• Our food is actually engineered to kill us and cause disease and psychiatric problems – Yes REALLY. (GMOs)
• Actors and other celebs openly make violent threats and death threats against Trump
• Democrats advocate disarming the American people, (better known as gun control) why? Because a disarmed people are easily controlled people
• Democratic policies are geared towards the collapse of the U.S. and loss of U.S. sovereignty to bring about the inclusion of the U.S. into a One World government and society. Can you say United Nations anyone?
• Democrats and their backers are openly advocating violence as a tool to achieve their politically correct, socialistic goals
• Democratic corruption and lawlessness has reached stunning levels never before seen

This writer believes that Barack Obama was a judgment against the U.S. from God. I also believe that Donald Trump is the olive branch if you will, sent by God.  No I’m not saying Trump is to be equated with any of God’s prophets; that would be stupid.  But I am saying that it strikes this writer that America has been offered another chance to change for the better by God, (just as Israel was) and Donald Trump is a big part of that.

To all the naysayers I know are out there chomping at the bit to refute this statement – this writer would remind you of King Nebuchadnezzar, one the most evil men there ever was in the ancient world, and yet God used him mightily.

Nor am I here saying that Trump is even a Christian, I do not know that and neither does anyone else. That in no way precludes God from using Trump to move America in the right direction.

Under the Trump administration Christians and Christianity are respected and protected.  Donald Trump may not always say all the right things, or tweet the right things etc., but he IS trying to do what is best for America.  Why else do you think the political left hates him and we his supporters so much?

Under Trump America is slowly growing again and prospering.  The U.S. is again respected on the international stage after years of being laughed at under Obama’s wimpy leadership.  Trump has the moral courage to stand up to nations like Iran and North Korea.  ISIS was defeated in a year; Trump does not play games and handcuff the military like Obama did.  The military will be rebuilt after Trump’s predecessor weakened and gutted it.

So yes, this writer firmly believes Donald Trump is being used of God for the good of this country, God’s olive branch to America – another chance for America to turn and repent of her sin and wrongdoing.  We can, under Trump’s leadership seek to root out the evil in America and combat it, in government and society, or we can sit back and do nothing and watch America die – if we as a nation choose to do nothing, America WILL die.

Do you smell that, patriots?

Kick aside the dirty needles and piles of human feces you find on the quaint streets of Seattle and San Francisco. Make your way past the tattooed and body-pierced non-binary, genderqueers of Berkeley and Brooklyn. Hold your nose as you step over an able-bodied millennial who is choosing homelessness #BecauseAntifa.

You’ll find that littered among the fetid armpits and unwashed hair of liberals, there is an underlying and deeper scent: the scent of desperation and fear.

The full liberal meltdown is now on full display.

Every week there’s another reason for these exceedingly unhappy lumps of flesh to lose what’s left of their minds.

An elected official like Rep. Maxine Waters (whose wig glue seems to be seeping into her scalp) is calling for violence and aggressive harassment of Trump administration officials. Sen. Cory Booker and others Second That Emotion.

To wit:

Stephen Miller, Trump’s most trusted aide on immigration, had his personal phone number released into the sewer of Twitter by a liberal group.

Occupy Wall Street has told fellow cockroaches how to murder ICE agents — and the Twitter post still exists.

Department of Homeland  Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen was attacked in a Mexican restaurant by leftist thugs — including an Obama holdover from the Department of Justice.

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi was chased out of a Mister Rogers documentary.

Press Secretary Sarah Sanders and her family were kicked out of a Virginia restaurant because the owner took a poll of her idiot workers and they all agreed to make Sanders leave (and then proceeded to harass her family at another restaurant).

Never-relevant Peter Fonda publicly called for Barron Trump to be kidnapped from his mother, the first lady, and thrown into a cage with pedophiles.

Kathy Griffin — she of the Trump severed head skit — has excoriated comedian Kevin Hart for not bashing Trump.

Bill Maher wants a recession, so Trump’s (and Normal America’s) policies will be proven wrong.

The examples of the collective left’s serious mental breakdown are endless. (I didn’t even mention how insane the media is!)

Imagine the hatred they must feel every day for their fellow Americans. That is what the left is: Pure and unbridled hate — from the arbiters of “peace,” “love,” and “tolerance.”

Their philosophy is unworkable, and their policies are not supported by the majority — so they resort to fascist tactics (and the leftist judiciary) to get their way. That’s enough to put anyone in a bad mood!

And what has caused the latest liberal meltdown?

The leftists’ latest tantrum is caused by President Trump enforcing current immigration law, and then using an executive order to keep illegal alien families together — as they await deportation.

Leftists are even using fake photos of crying little girls and children in cages taken during the Obama administration to gin up outrage! (Side note: if Trump is so awful, why does the corrupt media have to invent illegal alien sob stories?)

The Democrat Party, which supposedly used to be the party of working-class Americans, wants to import uneducated and illegal foreign nationals and elevate them over American citizens.

They think Normal America is the enemy – not foreign invaders.

They think Trump’s tweets that illegals should be immediately sent back from whence they came – a sentiment which is shared by a vast majority of Americans – is a sign that he is Adolf Hitler.

Naturally, calling any Republican Hitler is nothing new, but the frothing of the mouth these psychotics are engaging in over Trump is really something to behold.

They are completely melting down.

When the media lament the lack of civility in America right now, who else are we to blame but them?

After all, they are the ones who have insisted on 90 percent negative media coverage for the Trump administration — and refuse to highlight anything positive at all.

Even with all of these cards stacked against him — in addition to the Obama administration and his FBI, DOJ, and CIA minions trying to fix an election for Hillary Clinton and allow her to get away with numerous crimes while trying to destroy her opponent — Donald Trump is winning.

He is winning because his policies are commonsense solutions supported by a growing majority of the American people.

Trump’s stance on immigration reflects what the American people want.

We have been screaming from the rooftops for 20 years to build a border wall and fix the system that allows illegals and their progeny to be placed above American citizens. We’ve begged our leaders stop the practice of funding sanctuary cities, welfare to illegals, or sending aid to nations that send their poorest and most uneducated illegally over our border.

 Leftist elites don’t care about these people streaming over our border – the invaders who expect American taxpayers to take care of them and their children.

Elites want to make sure they are stocked with nannies and gardeners in Santa Monica, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Manhattan, East Hampton, Martha’s Vineyard, and Loudoun County — and anywhere else they gather.

Elites never have to deal with the actual ramifications of illegal immigration.

Ramifications like the American children who can’t get an education because the teacher’s time is spent remediating and teaching English as a Second Language.

The American construction worker who can’t find a job because business owners hire illegal workers on the cheap.

The American mothers and fathers who have lost children because an illegal alien decided to drive drunk, murder, rape, assault, or traffic their beloved child.

The American taxpayer who is on the hook for all of it.

No, elites don’t care about any of that. They are perfectly fine with importing more invaders and amassing more power among the true one percent.

Donald Trump and his supporters have upended all of that. Trump did not come into this job as a textbook conservative or ideologue — but he is governing as one.

We’ve had one Civil War already in our history. The next Civil War seems to be quickly approaching.

But considering liberals would rather go to feminist marches and scream at the Twitter CEO for eating a chicken sandwich at Chick-fil-A, I’m not too worried about our chances.

And for the record, it will be leftists who fire the first shot – either figuratively or literally.

Normal America will be there to answer them.

Progressive Ethics

One of Charles Krauthammers’ precepts is to speak bluntly about Things that Matter. As the 2018 election season begins, one that’s bedeviled the American voter for nearly a hundred years is the notion of Progressive Ethics. 

Like the phrases, honest politician, genuine imitation, and perfect child—each of which is joined by words with mutually exclusive meanings—evidence suggests that Progressive Ethics has a place all its own in the Hall of Oxymorons. 

Progressives may be devoid of ethical constructs because they are political amnesiacs. They promise one thing, then disavow their words when it becomes convenient to forget their inconvenient truths. Here are just a few examples:

1. In the early 1930s, Democrats made a play for Black voters, who until WWI and shortly thereafter, had usually voted Republican in memory of their putative savior, Abraham Lincoln. What happened next? FDR’s massive government projects denied work to Black laborers and mechanics because they were not members of craft unions as required by the Davis-Bacon Act. FDR’s rejection of anti-lynching legislation permitted ongoing, unspeakable brutalities toward Blacks for another three decades. FDR’s refusal to integrate the armed services kept Black men in mostly menial positions until Truman remembered his courage. 

Blacks were forgotten until needed for the Great Society welfare experiments which dismantled millions of Black families and made them welfare dependent. Except for throwing billions more into the stewpot of bureaucratic incompetence, Progressives have walked away from it all.

2.  In the 1970s, with Roe v. Wade, Progressives made their play for women voters under cover of a woman’s right to terminate another life on demand—forgetting their decades of opposition to abortion, given the religiosity of their ethnic constituents. Their true assertion of a woman’s place in the world occurred in the Clinton Administration when the president and his wife monstrously decried women who outed Bill’s ongoing predatory behavior. That Clinton has become the poster boy for #MeToo is no surprise.

3. Progressives’ amnesia continued when the LGBTQ community garnered enough support to push the Clinton’s into abandoning the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) right after President Obama did the same. They were all for it until they were against it.

4. In 2008, Obama promised to solve the immigration problem once in office. Except for record numbers of deportations during his eight years, he did no such thing. Instead, he promptly trashed his promises to Latinos, squandering his House-Senate, two-year majority to force The Affordable Care Act down the throats of all Americans (say, “Aahh!”).  Not least, he forgot his promise to “keep your doctor.” 

5. Didn’t Obama promise a new, high level of respect amongst nations, then gave us a feckless foreign policy in Russia, Iran, Iraq, Syria, and Israel, just to name a few—all anchored by the humiliation of Benghazi, a low point in modern American diplomacy?

6. Isn’t it now becoming clear that Obama broadly manipulated DOJ/FBI investigative actions to help assure a Clinton victory in 2016—forgetting the elegant words about his presidency being emblematic of integrity?

7. Progressives’ behavior toward CIA Director nominee Gina Haspel underscores their courage to forget. When Obama nominated John Brennan for that position in 2013, Democrats had no problem confirming him by a wide margin, despite a 2007 CBS interview in which he stated that waterboarding gleaned useful intelligence information and “saved lives.” With near total amnesia, only six Democrats could vote for Haspel’s confirmation in May 2018, despite her repeatedly declared disavowal of the use of torture. 

8. We come full circle to 2018, a damning memory for Progressives, given their intransigence in solving the immigration issue once and for all, despite showings a strong majority of Americans are willing to support a DACA solution and a defined, non-amnesty path to citizenship for many illegals, in trade for strong border security and merit-based immigration. Their banal cruelty creeps into sunlight when decrying the separation of children from their families at the border while furthering the number of American family units torn asunder by poverty, drugs, and illiteracy with their policies of big government, welfare dependency, and free stuff. 

For a group that has done much to further one-parent households all across America, to rob our culture of unifying behaviors (standing for the anthem?), to make religious freedom its own oxymoron, Progressive promises for our future are as empty as their memories. With them, we can count on one thing: They will run from one constituency to another, promising everything, all the while dividing us and stripping us of our rights.

With Progressives, it’s nothing new. In The Benedict Option (p89), author Rod Dreher reminds us of de Tocqueville’s belief that democracy in America “could not survive the loss” of its religious faith, that “self-government required shared convictions about moral truths,” or else, the nation, “falls prey to inordinate individualism, materialism, and democratic despotism,” all precursors “for servitude.” No thanks.

Americans should know what to do about Progressives. From now on, forget them.
